The Kompotas project will be on exhibition in The Hague next month. Drop by this Saturday for vodka and Lithuanian food! The canteen guide will also be presented here.
Opening night Saturday October 3rd / 17:00 - 21:00 Liefhertje en de Grote Witte Reus / Stationsweg 55 / The Hague
Over the past year I've flown to Vilnius every couple of months, to work on Kompotas: a project initiated by Indre Klimaite about Lithuanian canteen culture. The project's first exhibition will be at the tenth Baltic Triennial of International art in Vilnius.
This will be a photo exhibition, but also the launch of our 240 page, glossy guide to Vilius' canteens. A book full of photography, research, interviews and, ofcourse, canteen reviews.
The show will be held at an abandoned medical clinic:
Gedimino Prospektas 27 Sep 25 - Nov 11 2009 www.cac.lt
Dutch tv channel Het Gesprek interviewed me about my work. They also followed me around with their crew as I photographed and allowed me to ramble on for a full hour. The show will air September 5th, at 18:00.

A selection of the Royal Academy of Arts 2007 graduates, seven artists handpicked by museum director Wim van Krimpen.
To avoid confusion: the exhibition is located in the Gemeentemuseum, not the Gem or photography museum nextdoor.

Thanks to everyone who supported me by preordering a book, Veenman Publishers will publish On Loving Animals internationally.
Thanks, everybody!
It will be available from December 15th, the book will be released at the opening of the exhibition in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. Sadly, invitations are very limited so we'll have a bigger & better release in Amsterdam, sometime in January, where everyone is welcome.
We are still taking orders, so if you're interested, email me.
