Kompotas

Kompotas is a project created by designer Indre Klimaite. It is a documentation of Lituania's canteens, an ex-Soviet phenomenon that can still be found all over Lithuania's cities - if you know where to look. The food is often still made following Soviet recipes, and the interior design is out of this world. The project was published in Valgyklu Gidas, a guide to canteens in Vilnius and Kaunas. Valgyglu Gidas was published as an accompaniment to an exhibition during the Baltic Biennial in Vilnius, 2009.To find out more about the project, visit www.kompotas.lt.
